Exubera Pfizer – the Manufacturer |

Pfizer, the manufacturer of the new
inhaled insulin dubbed Exubera, is a well known drug manufacturer.
Pfizer discovers, develops, and manufactures many leading
prescription medications for humans and animals, as well as other best
selling products.
As the manufacturer of Exubera,
Pfizer has opened up a world of hope to many diabetics who previously
refused insulin injections or wished for another option. Exubera is an inhaled powder form of insulin that requires
pulmonary delivery (directly to the lungs).
It is inhaled in the same fashion as a dose of medication for
someone with asthma, and it is then absorbed into the bloodstream. Pfizer, as the manufacturer of
Exubera, spent years researching, revising, and clinically testing its
product before even seeking the approval of the Food and Drug
Administration. In January of
2006, all of their hard work finally paid off.
After tracking hundreds of diabetic patients over the course of
years to discover the effectiveness of Exubera, the FDA agreed to the
safety of the drug. Pfizer still maintains that Exubera
should not be administered to any patient who smokes or has lung disease,
and does not promote the safety of the drug for children.
In these categories, approval of the FDA was not even sought. |
